We are Protokol—an independent digital magazine at the intersection of AI art, avant-garde makeup, fashion, and cultural critique.
Our first issue explores Identity. We are looking for synthetic imagery that treats the face, the body, and the surface as a site of cultural meaning. The work should sit outside the algorithmic mean: strange, specific, uncooperative, or disarmingly beautiful in ways the machine did not anticipate. Avant-garde fashion. Surreal makeup. High-drama beauty that carries a question.
This is not a contest. There is no fee to submit. Every entry will be reviewed, but not every entry will be selected. Written descriptions that are shortlisted may be edited or refined in collaboration with our editorial team before publication.
What you may submit
-
A single image, or a series of up to three images that together form one visual story. Static only.
-
Any aspect ratio is accepted.
-
All work must be AI-generated, in whole or in part, and must engage with the theme of identity through a fashion, makeup, or beauty lens.
-
One title and one short written description (roughly 100–200 words) for your submission, whether it is a single work or a short series.
-
No celebrity likenesses, public figures, or copyrighted brand materials (names, logos, or distinctive assets) will be accepted unless accompanied by verifiable, official proof of delegation or usage rights. We are interested in original, speculative visions, not borrowed recognisability.

We look forward to seeing what the algorithm did not intend.
